Featured in the famous Hollywood film “3 Godfathers” starring John Wayne, Southern Pacific #9 was originally built for the Nevada-California-Oregon Railway in 1909. It was a common sight thundering across the countryside in the high deserts of Nevada and California. Nicknamed “The Slim Princess,” it was the last locomotive to operate on the old narrow gauge line before its retirement and subsequent preservation.
