After three plays I can see this is a good game - meaningful choices, fun dice drafting, and tableau building - but having cards snatched out from under you makes it hard to plan long term, and doesn't feel good to me.
Managing randomness of the dice rolls by drafting them is a fun mechanic, and the whole game looks very attractive. A game where you will want to do everything but can only manage to do some. Really solid medium-heavy strategy game.
Coimbra offers some good decisions to players using a dice drafting mechanic where you must balance bidding order, resource management and colour based abilities. The board is beautiful and the components are very good quality. I would recommend playing the game a couple of times with the same group for it to properly shine as there are some symbology hurdles for new players.
Great interweaving mechanisms that make this euro simple to learn but complex enough to have a very deep strategy
Could use an expansion for improved replayabilty.
