Short plays, small learning curve, enjoyable with different paths to victory.

This is a good game, a fast game, an easy game to teach, but.... It comes a bit short! I think I like his old brother, Race for the Galaxy, is way better!

I'd been looking for a while for a good lunchtime game to play at work, and Jump Drive is easy enough to pick-up and quite fast once everyone has the hang of it. There are many options for strategies, though the game can be very erratic. Since you pay for your played cards with cards from your hand, your hand changes fast and often, which can be good or bad. Many times we've played now and someone gets way in the lead and ends the game in 5 or 6 rounds, and there's no real way to stop them because player interaction is limited to a few cards.
It's really satisfying to get a nice combo going, though it can be difficult to do in so few rounds. Even though you're cycling through cards quite fast, it's down to the luck of the draw, and if you didn't draw at least 1 nice card to combo with your other ones, your a round behind everyone else, which is a lot when playing such a short game. That's why we usually increase the victory cap to 70, 80, even 100 points instead.
All in all, this is a fun and fast engine builder that's quite easy to learn.

This is a fun, quick little 2 player sci-fi themed filler game with the same symbols as Race/Roll for the Galaxy. If you've played either game, you'll pick this one up super fast. I house ruled the removal of an overpowered card, but besides that and that it could use an expansion with more cards, this one is a hit in its category! Shout out to Fantasy Realms...
