You and your companions trapped a demon within this pentagram. You aim to send it back whence it came. The demon, however, has different plans. Figure out who it is possessing before it corrupts you one by one and escapes. Complete the exorcism or fall victim to your own sins.
Sinister is a card-drafting Social Intrigue game of Catholic Horror with a shifting betrayer where the eliminated players stay in the game to take revenge.
Each round, players will be dealt Soul cards which tell them if they are possessed, or must resist one of the Seven Deadly Sins. They will then be dealt a hand of Item cards which they will utilize to either resist their sins, or keep the possessed player from corrupting the pentagram. After drafting all of the cards, players will vote on who they think is possessed, check to make sure the pentagram is not fully corrupted, and then exorcise the chosen player. If the exorcised player was possessed, the surviving players win. If they were not possessed, they become a malevolent spirit whose only goal is to help the demon corrupt the pentagram and escape.
Each round the Soul cards are redistributed, meaning a different player is likely possessed.
