I have had the chance to play through the story once with two of my children (6 and 8 yrs) and we had a blast. The goal is to find as much treasure as you can within a time limit. Now that we have seen what the game we should be able to find even more treasure next time. Worth the price.
I bought this for my parents at X-mas and we all liked it so much we played nearly 15 times in 2 days. Highly recommend for family.
As for the solo, this is okay. It is still fun to play solo, but it is basically a very easy beat your own score game.
