Subtraction by Heart *PRE-ORDER*

Powerful visualizations for meaningful, connected learning. Spaced repetition takes advantage of cutting-edge science of memory. Extra games and explorations included to deepen learning Three decks with three different visualizations of multiplication, for a total of 145 cards. Don’t learn by rote. Learn by Heart.

Subtraction trips kids up more than addition. And it’s usually taught without a solid underpinning of what it means. Instead, it’s the same drill and same rote pressure as learning addition facts, but with a minus sign.

Subtraction by Heart takes a different approach. Each card uses a vivid, carefully chosen image to show why a subtraction fact is true. When your child sees 13 − 7, something clicks rather than strains. That click is the difference between a fact temporarily memorized and a fact understood for good.

Five minutes a day. Three decks. One beautiful progression from intuitive to fluent.

Three decks. Three ways of seeing.
Each deck builds on the last, moving from concrete visual patterns toward the kind of confident, automatic recall that frees kids up to tackle bigger mathematical ideas.
Deck 1 – Number paths

Deck 2 – Number lines

Deck 3 – Bar Diagrams

Plus: A built-in spaced repetition guide — the scientifically proven method that moves facts into long-term memory faster than repetition alone. And once each deck is mastered, the cards become a game deck: puzzles, explorations, and challenges to keep playing.

Don’t learn by rote. Learn by Heart.
