Red Partisans (RP) is a two-player simulation of the brutal fighting that took place behind Army Group Center on the eastern front in 1942-44. The Partisan player, representing the Central Staff of the Partisan Movement, must destroy as many targets as possible, interdict the Axis armies’ lines of supply and control as much terrain as possible. The Axis player must keep open his side’s lines of communication, destroy as many Partisan units as possible and capture forced laborers for the German economy.
Each hexagon on the map represents 20 miles (32.4 km) from side to opposite side. The units of maneuver are Partisan “detachments” (company equivalents) and brigades. Axis units of maneuver vary in size from whole divisions down to
battalions. Each full turn represents two to three months, based on seasonality.
