Horrified d&d is yet another enjoyable game in the series that faces similar problems to every version since the original. The product quality has been ever so slowly dropping. The minis are nowhere close to as nice as nolzurs minis and for a d&d game they could have used those. The plastic drawbag is still not great compared to the original. However the gameplay loop is still super enjoyable. And the theming was well done with the monsters.
The rolling of the dice for special abilities changed the tempo of the game as well, this version to me felt closer to dueling with a monster vs figuring out the monsters puzzle, which you still need to do, that was an interesting choice.
If you have ever enjoyed the horrified series this is a solid addition however if you haven't played any I recommend the original above any of the spin offs first.
