Agitation is high across the country as the king has built one monument after another while starving the people — but the farmers have decided they can't take it any longer, and they're now leading an uprising.

In Tumult Royale, players take on the role of these greedy nobles and try to build as many monuments as possible. These efforts cost bread, marble and tools, though, items that must be stolen from the people. Acting simultaneously, players have only a few seconds in each round to reveal tiles, then decide whether they want to keep them or hide them — and they must take care for if they leave too little to the common people, a riot will ensue and the greedy nobles will be punished!
