Cthulhu Wars: Duel is a fast-moving two-player strategy game in which you play as Great Cthulhu himself or the Black Goat, a cosmic goddess of hideous fertility. Each side is strikingly different with unique units, abilities, and strategies available.

In Cthulhu Wars: Duel, the giant plastic miniatures have been replaced with cardboard standees. This not only allows the game to be more affordable, but also makes it travel friendly and saves table space. This means you can drop a box of Cthulhu Wars: Duel in a bag and take it to your game night with minimal space requirements. Cthulhu Wars: Duel also doesn't take up as much table space as the original, allowing it to be played in smaller spaces. In short, this is the most accessible version of Cthulhu wars ever made!

Interesting

This is a great ''little'' game. People asked for a cheap ($) version of Cthulhu wars, and here it is. Standees don't have the presence of 1kg mini. That's for sure. And it does not have the complexity of Cthulhu wars with the interconnection between races. This is a 2 players version at half the cost of the cheapest Cthulhu wars expansion, and you get a map and 2 whole race. You get a good part of the feel of cthulhu wars, but in a shorter game. This is hard to compare, and that's where people get disapointed when they expect the Big game, if you want the big game, put 300$+ on the table and you'll get it. My only gripe is that Cthulhu is a bit underwhelming to play, but is a great one to initiate someone to the game. Black Goat is more fun. I expect the game to get more interesting as more races gets available. But as is, under 30$ you can't really go wrong if you're looking for a quick conflict of area control.

Bundle is kind of dumb

Having never played wingspan or Wyrmspan but excited to get into it I ordered the bundle not realizing that you need to order a mat for EACH player and the bundle only comes with 1 mat. There is nothing noted to indicate this. Components and mat are good quality but if I’d have known I’d would now need to order more mats I probably would have only ordered the game and upgraded bits and not wasted money buying only one upgraded mat. I can not speak to the game itself as I have yet to play it.

Quick to set up and play, lots of different ways to strategize, easy to bring to the table

Great map builder game

I was missing a couple pieces outta the box. But contacted the publisher so that will be sorted out. Other than that both single/ multi-player mode are fun time to see who can get the higher score.

Such a fun game!

Great team building game, great for a large group. Simple to follow rules.
