Short Standalone game, that also works as an expansion for the main game. The production quality is very good for a small game. Nice insert. Recommended. 7/10
Falling is far deeper than its simple rules suggest. Beneath the straightforward resource-conversion mechanics is a tight, unforgiving game where every action, resource, position, and decision to pass can have significant consequences. Early planning matters, and randomized setups, character abilities, guild cards, and shifting turn order create plenty of replayability. It’s easy to learn, but surprisingly difficult to play well—simple rules, but definitely not a simple game.
Picked this up on sale and didn't regret it one bit. Great game, with a new (for me) action selection mechanism, where you're rarely blocked, but also allows for some nice chaining, especially if using those improvements and action bonuses. I like that there's a lot of mitigation options despite having limited dice availability. Nicely paced, once you know and understand the actions, bonuses and objectives, the game flows smoothly. Another great game from Suchy - one of my favourite designers!
