a lot like the video game, except it’s intense. if you want to succeed you have to ruthlessly focus on your goals from grandpa and the community centre. there’s a bit too much left up to dice roles so you can do the right things but get rng’d out of a win. we played the short version with the kids and they loved it. visually it’s a total live letter to the video game. it’s a great game but you need to be ok with luck deciding if you win or not.
We just played this with 6p at a convention. At first, the people with little knowledge of poker had a hard time evaluating the strength of their hands, but with the help of the player aid cards, things quickly made sense. We had a genuine celebration when we finally cracked our third safe. The poker chips have a good weight to them giving this a more premium feel. A great deal at this price point.
