Excellent! Everyone I've taught this to has had a blast! It's difficult to get into because everything is super unintelligible at first (and there are a lot of rules to learn), but the tutorial scenario does a great job of splitting it into chunks.
I originally got this game because of the coop mode. Spirit Island is my favourite game, and I've heard lots of comparisons between this game and Spirit Island. However, I have yet to even try coop because my group and I immediately fell in love with the competitive version and can't stop playing it; we're pigging out, and we're lucky Circe isn't here to stop us.
Just as an additional thing to add to my ramblings, I love how the combat works. The fact that it is completely deterministic means that the tension isn't in the combat itself (as a game like Dune Imperium does it, which is fun, but in a very different way), but instead the tension is in your turns revolving around the combat: the cold war arms race, the mobilization of troops, etc, and that makes it very unique and fun.
