Go back to the time of the Maya and help them build their civilization. On the Yucatán peninsula new cities arise around the temples. Large cities give power which you can gain by supplying the residents with food. Plant corn, squash, potatoes and peppers to increase your influence on the cities. An easy to play, tactical tile laying game in which you always face difficult choices and have to keep an eye on your opponents! You can teach this in about 2 minutes, and it plays in a short-but-satisfying 30-45. This is tile laying stripped down to its bare bones and tuned for competitive play. Score points for planting crops and holding majorities over cities, simple as that. Presented in a similarly practical fashion, the board is easily read, looks attractive (if a bit plain), and the components—mostly tiles, are of high quality. This is a sleeper hit in the making. Family-friendly and worth playing again and again. English rules are clear and excellent with one known piece of errata in the first printing, clarified by Brett J. Gilbert on BGG.
