Once you get past the intimidating looking set-up and start to understand the iconography, how smooth the gameplay is, and the multiple paths to victory, all fears quickly melt away and you're soon enjoying one of the best worker placement games out there. Fantastic art and theme.
I would highly recommend getting the upgrade kit for Yokohama. A simple game but complex to master. Agree with Tom L that the game is very versatile and you can play this game without being bored. Multiple paths to victory and this game scales well from 2-4 players. it is either my 2nd or 3rd favorite game between Great Western Trail and Terraformming Mars. Highly recommended.
Takes Istanbul's movement puzzle and raises it a couple of strategic notches while not adding a ton of complexity. Intensely variable setup means no two games play the same. All aspects of the game contribute and bleed into each other seamlessly without creating labyrinths of decision trees which are ultimately just noise, like in Teotihuacan.

Wonderful art craft for children. My daughter loved it.
