Insert compatible with Viticulture Essential Edition®, and the Tuscany Essential Edition®, Moor Visitors®, and Visit from the Rhine Valley® expansions. The design provides both efficient storage and improved game play. Many of the trays can be utilized during the game, and they greatly aid set-up and clear-away times. The rules and boards act as a lid on top of the trays.I use this with base game and expansions and metal coins. Worth the buy if you love the game.
This insert is really cheap. It can hold cards with quality sleeve without any problems. You have to assemble it with glue. It takes about 1-2 hours of your time but it's really easy. I suggest you watch an assembly video from folded space prior to your first one. Wood glue really help.
Would be very good, but only 4 out of 6 of the construction mat extensions will fit in the box. High summer humidity is not helping. The really thick player pieces of the Tuscany expansion need to be placed just so because the boxes are a tad not deep enough.
Everything fits just nicely with all the three expansion, metal coins and most importantly sleeved cards. The box cover will be raised 2mm, but this allows you to have all four boxes in one.

I offloaded my El Grande Big Box in favour of the New Edition and am very glad I did. The new edition cuts away all of the superfluous content in the Big Box and instead focuses on the core game which gave El Grande its Classic status.
The new edition is much more attractive than the original design and looks great on the table. Finally this game looks as good as it plays! A top 10 game of all time for me.
New edition looks way better, but box is way too big and oddly long shape.
