Shadows in the Forest

We were putting together a power outage kit and found this game and thought it would be a great addition. We live in the woods so power outages can be lengthy. The first time we pulled this game out the kids were skeptical, but after a few plays they loved it! They now look forward to power outages as it means we can pull out this game to play :)

I didn't buy this board game from this website, but I do own it and wanted to leave a short review for it. Shadows in the Forest is a very simple strategy game with a fun gimmick and a cute aesthetic. It's good for all ages and really easy to pick up and play, and teach to newcomers. As an adult who simply enjoys board games, I wouldn't consider Shadows in the Forest to be a must have game as it's very simple, and your enjoyment will heavily depend on how much you enjoy the playing in the dark gimmick. But I personally fell in love with it based on the premise alone, and after multiple plays of it I can safely say that my opinion hasn't changed. It's the perfect camping game to take on a trip, and is a personal favorite of mine. So even if you don't have kids and you think you'd enjoy a simple yet cutesy strategy game, this is a nice one to pick up.

Do your kids wake up when it’s still dark out? Of course they do! Do parents want to get up at half-past-crazy, definitely not. This play-in-the-dark game is perfect for kids to play on their own in the mornings instead of watching t.v. It’s quick, so my 5 and 9 yo even play before school.
